Tech free day challenge...


This month, in the spirit of Unplugging, I challenge you to a tech free day. This means staying away from your social media, your emails, your phones, your TVs, your iPad, your computers etc etc and just spend the day living in the moment.


Technology distracts our attention and can have a negative impact on our mental and physical wellbeing. Giving ourselves a break once in a while will give you some peace, undisturbed time with loved ones as well as the opportunity to do fun things you haven't done in a while.



But what will there be to do?....Oh Plenty...!


  1. Take a walk in nature.

  2. Have a family picnic.

  3. Take a bike ride.

  4. Play frisbee.

  5. Play rounders.

  6. Play cricket.

  7. Play swing ball.

  8. Play tennis.

  9. Volunteer.

  10. Go swimming.

  11. Play with a pet - or a friend's pet.

  12. Go to the park.

  13. Go bowling.

  14. Play hide and seek.

  15. Visit a relative in need.

  16. Go outside and take fun family photos.

  17. Make a meal and surprise a loved one.

  18. Play football.

  19. Make a chalk picture on your driveway.

  20. Play mini golf.

  21. Visit a pet shop.

  22. Visit a garden centre.

  23. Go out to eat.

  24. Check out local events.

  25. Be a tourist in your own town.

  26. Walk through the woods.

  27. Have a Barbeque.

  28. Plant some seeds and watch them grow.

  29. Take a family trip to the zoo.

  30. Take a family trip to a museum.

  31. Build a birdhouse or birdfeeder.

  32. Have a treasure hunt.

  33. Plant trees.

  34. Pick seasonal fruit at a local farm.

  35. Go to the beach.

  36. Take a nice scenic drive.

  37. Have coffee with a friend.

  38. Find live music to enjoy.

  39. Go to a comedy club.

  40. Have a night out and dance the night away.

  41. Go out for a fancy dessert.

  42. Fly a kite.

  43. Walk on grass with your bare feet.

  44. Visit an old country estate or a castle.

  45. Go shopping!

  46. Join a club.

  47. Visit the gym.

  48. Take part in a new exercise class.

  49. Pick some pretty flowers.

  50. Go to a library.


And if you want to stay at home....


  1. Clean out your wardrobe.

  2. Read a book.

  3. Bake bread - the smell is amazing.

  4. Clean everything.

  5. Paint.

  6. Good old board games.

  7. Do a puzzle.

  8. Teach a pet a new trick.

  9. Start/maintain your garden.

  10. Clean out kitchen cabinets.

  11. Get all dressed up and go nowhere.

  12. Build a fort with blankets and pillows.

  13. Give yourself a massage.

  14. Take a bubble bath.

  15. Make a facemask with natural ingredients.

  16. Give yourself a manicure/pedicure/both!

  17. Journal.

  18. Practise yoga/stretches.

  19. Make a list of all the places you would like to go.

  20. Look at old photos.

  21. Floss your teeth.

  22. Rearrange your furniture.

  23. Have a cooking contest.

  24. Meditate.

  25. Write heart filled letters to loved ones.

  26. Sit and stare into space.

  27. Have a picnic in your garden.

  28. Sort through old bills you have been meaning to get rid of.

  29. Make birthday cards in advance.

  30. Make a delicious meal.

  31. Moisturise

  32. Bake cookies!

  33. Test out a new recipe.

  34. Wash your sheets.

  35. Eat in absolute silence.

  36. Draw a self portrait.

  37. Flip through old magazines.

  38. Practise your Smokey eye.

  39. Choreograph a dance to your favourite song.

  40. Scream into a pillow.

  41. Make a list of everything that makes you happy and do one every day.

  42. Have an at home cocktail party.

  43. Do your hair in a new way.

  44. Get YouTube open and do an exercise video.

  45. Practise your go-to karaoke songs.
