Updated: Jan 13, 2021
BlissBox is a small female owned company who are committed to not only helping fellow women but also helping small business across the UK to prosper by selecting items and services produced by them where I can. This means that BlissBoxers will receive a range of truly unique and specially crafted gifts to enjoy knowing that thought, hard work and care has gone into the making of each item.
Lets meet the Brands in this month's BlissBox...
Sawley Kitchen. The award winning Yorkshire Biscuit Bakehouse, specialising in handcrafted delights, baked in the traditional way using our family vintage recipes. A little about Sawley Kitchen in their own words:
"Robin Jaques and I became partners both at work & in real life 36 years ago. Rob brought with him so much experience in the hospitality industry including several famous Yorkshire landmarks…The Windmill at Linton, Bull at Broughton and where we met, The Sawley Arms at Sawley.
Nicky, that’s me, the one with the baking experience. I’d spent a few years working my way up the ladder to Manager within Betty’s of Harrogate, the indisputable leader in confectionery! The concept of our idea was actually born in the kitchen of The Sawley Arms which we managed as a couple. Hence the name.
So…we knew enough about baking – we had 24hour a day energy to work the hours – and an unshakeable belief that our biscuits were the BEST.
So – we bought a commercial oven called Bridgitte …and decided …to do something interesting. On October 15th 2012 we proudly threw open the doors of The Sawley Kitchen, a Yorkshire Biscuit Bakehouse at Sycamore Business Park Ripon. Since then the Sawley Kitchen has grown beyond recognition!

Crafty Girl By Maria. A little message from Maria: "I have loved being creative ever since I remember. I grew up in the 70s and was encouraged by my mum to try anything creative. She was an amazing cook and seamstress, and taught me how to bake, sew, and knit.
Since having children I have worked part-time, which has enabled me to dabble with making and selling a few things on eBay and Etsy in my spare time. I then created a campervan sewing machine cover and decided to sell the pattern for it on Etsy and started teaching a few friends how to sew.
Since becoming totally hooked on making my own clothes a few years ago, my love of fabrics and sewing has grown, alongside my fabric stash! I started to dream of having my own sewing shop, and then at the beginning of this year (2020) I finally decided that it was only going to happen if I made it so, so I invested a small amount of money to buy some stock and started selling on eBay, Etsy, and then my own website.
Crafty Girl Maria is run from my home in Horley, Surrey (in the UK) and has grown so much this year that I have taken on 2 staff: Lorraine and Margaret, who help manage the orders.
I stock a wide range of colourful, modern and affordable fabrics and fat quarter bundles; as well as sewing, quilting and craft supplies kits. I stock many big names such as Tilly and the Buttons, Tilda, Vilene/Vlieseline, Hemline, Riley Blake, Bosal, Groves and Trimits and love seeking out wonderful gifts and sewing accessories.
I understand it can be difficult knowing what you need for a project, so I'm always happy to help you find the right supplies. I'm also on hand for one-to-one sewing tuition and will be hoping to set up workshops again in the New Year.
You can follow me on Facebook and Instagram: @craftygirlMaria or find me at www.craftygirlMaria.co.uk"
