Fun Things To Do In Winter

The days are getting colder and darker outside but it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom! Here are 15 easy things you can do to have some winter fun!

1. Go Sledging - Have fun in the snow and sail down a snowy hill both excited and terrified at the same time!

2. Ice Skating - Work up a sweat and look fabulous gliding across the ice. Or simply have a laugh slipping over!

3. Drink Hot Chocolate - One of my favourites! A nice cup of hot chocolate to warm yourself up. Make it special by adding whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate shavings!

4. Bake cookies - An activity for yourself or with the kids. Baking fills your kitchen with joy, laughter and a delicious smell. Keep yourself and the little ones busy by making (and eating) your favourite cookies.

5. Write a letter - In this day and age we send emails, texts and DMs but why not go old school and write a letter. Not only will create feelings of nostalgia but it also allows you to have full creative freedom, gives the recipient a nice surprise and not to mention the anticipation of the reply! Let your loved ones know you are thinking of them with a hand written letter.

6. Read a good book - Get comfortable and warm and dive into a good book. Escape into another world and give yourself a much deserved break.

7. Light a candle (or 10) - Aromatherapy has great benefits for your mood and makes your home smell amazing. In addition, candles provide you with little pockets of light which creates a nice wholesome space you can relax in.

8. Have a winter walk - Walking in winter is great! Getting into nature, wrapping up warm and watching your breath as you walk is a lovely experience. Have a winter adventure! I love walking in the snow. Everything seems to be quieter and prettier in the snow and time slows down. Its beautiful and magical.

9. Movie marathon! - Get your popcorn, your favourite snacks and drinks and watch a marathon movies. Whether this be Christmas movies, the Harry Potter series or movies you and your loved ones all voted for, make yourself comfortable, relax and enjoy.

10. Play board games - get off the technology and dust off the board games for timeless and brain boosting fun!

11. Do a puzzle - Puzzles actually help fight brain aging, not to mention it is a great way to pass the time. Sit down with your loved ones and enjoy putting together a puzzle. You could even spread the fun over a series of days or weeks too!

12. Take a walk at night - watch the lights glitter as you walk past them when the sun goes down. Take a moment to appreciate the moon and the stars as well as the Christmas lights which will make everything pretty and sparkly.

13. Make a new recipe - Dedicate a whole day (or night) to creating a new meal for you and your loved ones that will delight your taste buds!

14. Beer tasting - Pubs and breweries feel even more welcoming in the winter, when the comforting smell of hops, yeast, and malt call visitors inside. Warm yourself up with a nice beer and enjoy the company.

15. Dance! - Shake off those winter blues by turning on the tunes, cranking it up loud, and getting your groove on. Dancing can get your endorphins flowing, even if you have two left feet. Try turning on a dance tutorial, if you want to get even more out of it.
